Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully before using the www.kikunagadojo.com website and prior to training at our dojo.
1. ADMISSION & EVALUATION PERIOD
All new memberships begin with a mandatory Evaluation Month. Admission to the full program is not guaranteed.
• Kikunaga Martial Arts reserves the right to determine, at its sole discretion, if a student (or their guardian) is a suitable fit for our specific training methodology and environment.
• By the end of the first month, staff will confirm if your membership will continue. If we determine the program is not a fit, your membership will conclude at the end of that billing cycle.
2. DOJO CODE OF CONDUCT & MISCONDUCT
To ensure the safety and technical progress of all students, we maintain a strict Code of Conduct. Access to our services is conditioned upon the following:
• Respectful Environment: We require all students and parents to maintain a respectful, disciplined, and non-disruptive attitude.
• Zero Tolerance for Verbal Abuse: Harassment, verbal abuse, yelling, or intimidating behavior toward instructors or fellow students—regardless of the cause or motivation—is grounds for immediate termination of membership.
• Safety First: Any behavior that compromises the physical or mental safety of the class environment will result in immediate suspension or removal.
3. TERMINATION OF SERVICE
Kikunaga Martial Arts reserves the right to terminate a membership for cause immediately and without notice. "Cause" includes, but is not limited to:
• Breach of the Code of Conduct (misconduct in or outside the dojo).
• Behavior that requires individual instruction beyond the scope of our regular group programming.
• Repeated disruption of the learning environment by a student or their legal guardian.
4. FEES, REFUNDS & CANCELLATIONS
• 10-Day Cooling-Off Period: In accordance with the Ontario Consumer Protection Act, you have the right to cancel your membership in writing within 10 days of signing up for a full refund.
• Non-Refundability: Outside of the statutory 10-day period, all fees are non-refundable.
• Medical Leave: Credit may be issued for temporary absences due to medical reasons (official medical note required).
• Payment Responsibility: Members are responsible for tracking their own due dates. A late fee of $25.00 + HST will be applied to any account 30 days past due.
5. RIGHT TO REFUSE & MODIFY
We reserve the right to refuse service to any individual whose conduct or presence is deemed inconsistent with the safety, discipline, and technical standards of Kikunaga Martial Arts. We reserve the right to modify class schedules, fees, or program structures with reasonable notice.
6. SCOPE OF INSTRUCTION & SPECIAL ASSISTANCE
Kikunaga Martial Arts is a group-instruction facility focused on the technical curriculum of Gracie Jiu-Jitsu.
Individual Needs: If a student is deemed by management to require individual assistance, one-on-one supervision, or specialized instruction that falls beyond the scope or capacity of our regular group programming, we reserve the right to terminate the membership.
Fit for Program: Our priority is the progress and safety of the entire class. If we determine that our current staff-to-student ratio or facility environment cannot safely or effectively accommodate a student’s specific behavioral or developmental needs, we will assist the family in a transition out of the program.
